G1 Practice Test 4

To get a G1 license for Ontario and start your journey to becoming a fully licensed driver you’ll need to pass a written knowledge test. The test is 40 multiple-choice questions divided into two 20 questions sections, one on road signs and the other on rules of the road. To pass, you’ll need to correctly answer at least 16 questions in each of the test sections. Questions are based on the 2024 Ontario Driver's Handbook. You will also be required to pay a $158.25 testing package fee and pass a vision test. Your testing fee will cover your first written test, and your G2 driving test, any additional attempts at the written will incur a $215.75 additional fee. The graduated driver's license program in Ontario means it will take about two years to be fully licensed. You may start the process with your G1 license at age 16, and then you must hold a G1 license for a year or 8 months if in a driver training program, before road testing for a G2 license.
